Young Professional Rooftop Fundraiser for the Harlem Children’s Zone

On July 24th, Young Professionals United for Change in conjunction with Triumph Group, as well as the Harvard Black Alumni Society, presents the 2nd Annual Young Professionals Rooftop Fundraiser for the Harlem Children’s Zone.

The intimate afternoon of cocktails in support of the Harlem Children’s Zone will have a keynote address from its founder and CEO, Geoffrey Canada.

The Harlem Children’s Zone is a pioneering community based organization that President Barack Obama heralds as the conceptual foundation of his anti-poverty program. Last the event raised over $17,000 in support of HCZ’s Harlem Gems, the organization’s Early Childhood Initiative.

This year the organizers hope to surpass the success of last year’s event by raising $25,000+ for the College Success Office (CSO), focusing their efforts on another critical component to the HCZ pipeline: its recent 250 high school graduates heading to college.

To attend the event they ask for a suggested donation of $125 (a minimum donation of $75) which can be made at www.hcz.org/event. Heavy appetizers and an open beer and wine bar will be provided

If you can’t make the event, but believe in the organization’s mission, the organizers hope you would still consider making a donation of any amount at www.hcz.org/event as your support is of the utmost importance.
