Melba Tolliver, New York City’s first Black TV news anchorwoman, was fired when she wore her Afro to cover the White House; now a Black family lives there.
Join Melba as she reads from her memoir along with her guests РKathe Sandler and Camille Yarbrough, panelists Farah Jasmine Griffin, Asha Bandele, Ad̩mola Mandella, Michaela Angela Davis and Mireille Liong-A-Kong, and actress Dominique Morriseau. Environmental activist Majora Carter will make remarks; Rev. Malika Lee Whitney and actress Phyllis Yvonne Stickney will host. All hair styles and viewpoints are welcome!
The event’s slogan, “Let’s talk, laugh and be fearlessly tender-headed,” will set the tone. Bring along a “Natural Inspiration” friend or colleague you admire.
