Pitbull and Nina Sky at SOBs

On Wednesday April 22, Cuban rapper Pitbull makes his debut at SOBs. Spitting hits like “Krazy,” “Culo,” “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and “Bojangles,” Pitbull is sure to get the party started. Pitbull, a.k.a. Mr. 305, will bring his unique rapping style to New York City, in this night that is not to be missed.

Growing up with the works of Cuban poet Jose Marti, Pitlbull blends his early lyrical influences with a Miami bass sound. Able to harness the power of spoken word, Pitbull made his debut on the 2002 Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz album “King of Crunk,” and hasn’t stopped since. After appearing on The Fast and the Furious soundtrack, in 2004 he released his debut album M.I.A.M.I. (Money Is a Major Issue), with the hit single “Culo” featuring Lil Jon.

Pitbull was soon unstoppable, dropping two more albums in two years: El Mariel in 2006 and The Boatl ift in 2007. He has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in the game including Lil Jon, Wyclef Jean, Carlos Ponce, Rick Ross, Don Omar, Bun B, and Ying Yang Twins. He’s featured on numerous singles, including Daddy Yankee’s “Gasolina” remix, DJ Khaled’s “Holla at Me” also featuring Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, and Rick Ross, and the Ying Yang Twins’ hit “Shake.”In 2008, Mr. 305 continued to drop hits, releasing the “Krazy” featuring Lil Jon.

2009 promises to be an even bigger year, with the singles like “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and “Blanco” featuring Pharrell, already blowing up the charts from his upcoming album. This April 22 show promises to showcase some of the biggest hits from an already rising star. Be sure to see it first at SOB’s.
