Spike Lee Celebrates the 20th Anniversary of “Do The Right Thing”

Harlem’s ImageNation presented Spike Lee with the 2009 ImageNation Revolution Award at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater last month.

In addition to presenting the award, the 20th Anniversary of Spike’s Do the Right Thing was celebrated and screened. After the screening there was a discussion with the cast and crew including Spike Lee, actors – Richard Edson, John Turturro, Rosie Perez, John Savage, Frankie Faison and Luis Ramos, cinematographer – Ernest Dickerson, and producers – Jon Kilik and Monty Ross. They shared their memories of being on set, the impact of the film on their careers, and what it was like working with Spike.
