Great event! I am glad that the Delta’s are sponsoring an event that addresses issues that are very important in the community. I am a 3rd degree black-belt in karate and we are sponsoring a free Self-Defense & Self-Esteem Retreat for Girls & Women, on March 28th at the Abyssinian Baptist Church . The event will be held from 10am-2pm. We discuss street safety awareness, abuse prevention, conflict resolution and how to build self-confidence through self-defense. We have a teen break-out workshop that will be co-facilitated by Safe Horizons & youth leadership. The event will be interactive and the audience will participate in learning basic self-defense techniques. Contact Sensei Veanda at veandas@gmail.com for more information.
