Tuesday, December 2nd, Move Forward Music presents hip-hop legend C.L. Smooth at Drom, backed by a live band with a Full Horn Section so you know those Pete Rock classics like “Reminisce” and “Straighten it Out” are gonna be CRAZY!!!.

As one-half of the venerable hip-hop duo Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, C.L. is responsible for penning some of the genre’s most timeless verses on songs like “The Creator,” “Straighten It Out,” “Take You There,” and the landmark “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.).” His silky voice, effortless flow, and conscious lyrics are easily recognizable signatures of Smooth’s music.

Highlighting not only his classic work with Pete Rock, but also his fresh solo material from 2007′s American Me, C.L.’s December 2nd performance at Drom will be his first-ever concert at a New York club with a live musical band. Of making the switch from vinyl to instruments, C.L. said “It’s 2008 and Barack Obama is the president. I figure it’s time for a change”. Warming up the night for C.L. on December 2nd are the fast-rising MC’s P. Casso, Chen Lo and Randy Mason. WHCR’s DJ King James will hold down the turntable duties in between sets.
