Grammy award winning singer/actress, Beyonce Knowles, will star as Etta James in the upcoming film Cadillac Records. Cadillac Records will debut in theaters on December 5th.

In this tale of sex, violence, race and rock and roll in 1950′s Chicago, “Cadillac Records” follows the the rise and fall of Chess Records and the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America’s musical legends, including Muddy Waters, Leonard Chess, Little Walter and Howlin’ Wolf and Elvis Presley. Chess, who co-founded the label with his brother Phil, was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

In the film, as rock and roll grows more popular, the Chess artists find themselves more revered by a new generation of musicians, but they have also each earned and lost a fortune on booze, women, and the high life, and their addictions begin to take their toll.  Even as tragedy befalls, their music and their spirits remain strong.

The cast of Cadillac Records includes very talented and award winning actors such as:  Gabrielle Union as Geneva Wade, Cedric the Entertainer as Willie Dixon, Adrien Brody as Leonard Chess, Mos Def as Chuck Berry, Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, Columbus Short as Little Walter, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Revetta Chess, and Beyonce Knowles as Etta James.
