Slim Stands on His Own
If you sit back, relax, and put on a 112 CD the first voice you’ll hear is Marvin “Slim†Scandrick’s smooth, melodic, and falsetto voice. Slim, lead singer, has decided to go solo and hopes to bring his sound to the top of the R&B charts as the group did in the past.
The first two singles from his album Love’s Crazy are So Fly featuring Young Joc and Good Lovin’ featuring Harlem’s Ryan Leslie. These tunes are already burning up the airwaves, and fans can’t wait for Love’s Crazy to drop November 18th.
In addition to the new CD, Slim has also started his own record label. In an interview with the Famuan, Slim discusses the label, M3 Production. He states that he “wanted to switch hats from artist to CEO. When you’re an artist it is like being in a box. Now I can dictate my situation.”
Along with 112′s success, Slim has been the recipient of an ASCAP award 8 times. Slim has collaborated with some of R&B’s top producers on Love’s Crazy. They include Midnight Black, Monte, Polow da Don, and Sean Garrett. Some of the tracks have guest appearances by Gucci Mane, Slim Thug, UGK, and Faith Evans.
Often compared to Smokey Robinson, Slim is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. And, if the success of the first two singles is any indication of the success of Love’s Crazy, we predict platinum status during the coming weeks.
