  1. LOVE IT! And I actually love rednecks. Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash are among my favorites. Even Austin, Texas has some forward-thinking and progressive cowboys. Country cooking and soul food come from the same pathos, and country and bluegrass music ain’t nothin’ but white folks blues. Let’s not confuse our soulfully kindred Redneck brothers and sisters with their ignorant, hateful doppelgangers, the *crackers*.

Most Republican whites can’t see past what they SEE. One-drop rule still trumps everything in America. Let’s not forget that Obama is HALF-REDNECK his damn self, spending time with his Granny right now. He was raised by his grandparents and single white mother. He has ONE HOUSE. He is the Senator of a Midwestern state, and built his political views as a result of community organizing. He is more culturally connected to Middle America life and its values than McCain will ever be.

Hopefully, after this election, we can all come to the table eating fried chicken, black-eyed peas, gumbo, cornbread, collard greens, watermelon and sweet iced tea… That’s even more American than apple pie.

    GO REDNECKS!!!
